Our ‘Brawl Stars Showdown Mode Tips & Guide’ will walk you through all the information about the Showdown event, including rules, tips & strategy, best brawlers, and maps.
What is Brawl Stars Showdown Mode(Event)?
Brawl Stars Showdown Mode(Event) is one of Brawl Stars’ game modes and is close to Battle Royal mode. As you start the game, poison clouds will blow from the edge of the map as time passes. Players win if they survive and be the last Brawler standing.
This mode(Event) is preferred for those who want to collect trophies quickly, because if the player’s own skills are outstanding, the trophy can be raised stably regardless of the brawler. But be careful, because if things go wrong, you’ll drop more trophies than other 3 vs 3 modes. Also, this Mode (Event) not available at first and unlocked when you achieve 30 trophies.
Basic Rules
The objective of Brawl Stars Showdown Mode(Event) is to kill all of your opponents and be the last brawler standing. The longer you survive, the greater the rewards.
This mode is characterized by the creation of poison clouds from the edges of the map, which are getting wider and narrowing the map. Poison Clouds are spawned at all edges 20 seconds after the game starts, and the clouds will come into the center of the map by one tile every 5 seconds. When the brawler is within range of the poison cloud, it continues to take 1000 damage every second. Note that a brawler doesn’t take damage immediately after entering the poison cloud, but takes damage after a 1.5 seconds delay. Since the map size is usually 61 × 61 or 62 × 62, the entire map will be cover with the clouds in less than 3 minutes and the game will eventually end.
Destroying the power cube box, which exist all over the map, will give you one power cube. Each time you acquire a power cube, your health is increased by 400, your attack damage is increased by 10% linearly for the duration of the match. Therefore, the higher the base power level, the more damage you gain when acquiring power cubes. The power cube will drop even if you kill other brawlers, so the more you kill, the more power cubes you can stack. The number of power cubes drop when you kill is 1/3 + 1 of the number of power cubes the brawler who died had. Also, from certain trophy level, the nickname of the other party is not shown to prevent teaming between friendly users.
Solo Showdown

“Take down the other nine and be the last one standing. Use any means necessary. Game on!”
SOLO SHOWDOWN
Be the sole survivor!
Every Brawlers for themself!
The Solo Showdown is basic event mode of Showdown. 10 players with no teams will play the game. The main goal of the game is to kill all other brawlers and be the last brawler standing. The longer you survive, the greater the rewards. There might also be a Modifier active which introduces an additional special condition to the matches.
Duo Showdown

“Take down the other four teams. If you are defeated, you will respawn in a while if your teammate is still alive!”
DUO SHOWDOWN
Be the last team alive!
All teams against each other!
The mod added in May 2018 update. It is said that this mode was made to alleviate the Teaming that often occurs in Showdown mode. Duo Showdown is similar to Solo Showdown except that you have a teammate (2 players in a team, 5 teams will play).
All power cubes earned during the game are shared, meaning that if you gain 1 power cube, your teammate gains 1 power cube as well. In Duo Showdown Mode(Event), your goal is to take opponent teams out and be the last team standing.
If your teammate dies, they will have 15 seconds timer until they respawn again. If a player dies, the power cube is reset, so all respawned teammates start at 0 power cubes. However, the power cube left behind can be won by teammates (and of course, enemies can get them too), so it is possible to give all the power cubes to one teammate. If both you and your teammate are defeated at any time before one of you respawn, the game is over.
Showdown Modifiers
There are currently 7 modifiers in the game, and 4 of them are for showdown mode.
Tips & Strategy
In Showdown Mode(Event), the two most important things are survival and farming. Even if you don’t fight with other players, if other brawlers fight with each other, you can naturally rank high, so avoiding the fight and running away is one of the best strategies. However, as time passes, the map becomes narrower due to poison clouds, so you can’t avoid from fighting completely. Also, if the number of power cubes is low, it is more likely that other players will kill you, so it is necessary to do reasonable amount of farming to increase the chances of survival. The right balance between survival and bold farming is the point of Showdown Mode(Event).
If you choose a close range brawler, it’s a good idea to box farming as quickly as possible and hide in the bush. This mode is pretty wide map and there are 10 players, so the chance to find the players who wandering without hiding their bodies is easy. In addition, as the map gets narrower over time, the close range brawler is more advantageous at the end of the game. Therefore, if you repeat the attack and farming moderately and endure to the end, you can aim for a very high rank. Conversely, long range brawlers are disadvantageous as the map gets narrower, so it’s a good idea to quickly defeat your opponent’s brawlers before the map narrows.
In general, in a map with more bushes and walls, a close range brawlers will have advantage, whereas in a map with fewer bushes and more open areas, longer range brawlers will have advantage. Thrower brawlers are not bothered by the number of bushes, but they work great on the maps with lots of walls. Assassin Brawler is very effective on all maps.
